Captain Portus: The homo adelphien species of man evolved in the Margaret River subregion of Karridale. A land fondly referred to as ʻThe centre of the universeʼ. The Karridelphien man pictured, Captain Portus, has evolved to overcome the hardship of running out of wine by developing the ability to grow grapes from his fertile beard. After arriving in Augusta in 1830 aboard the brig ʻEmily Taylorʼ, Captain Portus settled with the Busselʼs on the Blackwood River at Alexandra Bridge to build the Adelphi homestead just two miles from where the cuttings from his beard still flourish. Neccesity has influenced the species to spend 50% of their time either fishing or surfing, leading to the evolution of seaside tools to also grow in their facial locks. The most important benefit being that this species will always have at least one hand free to carry their port bottle. Hereʼs to survival of the adaptable!
