Our 2019 Glenarty Road Savagnin is an intriguing wine. With crunchy green pear + honey dew melon + lime curd + salt spray.
Made from only 150 vines, grown in a North - South row orientation to capture the sunlight + produce lively fruit characters.
Hand picked fruit. Free run juice, full solids, wild yeast ferment in second fill french oak barriques. 7 months in oak. Unfined with minimal filtration. Will cellar for 10 years.
Savagnin Blanc you say? It’s not to be mistaken with Sauvignon Blanc. A unique variety originally introduced into Australia as the Spanish grape Albarino. Only to be discovered a few years later as Savagnin, a white variety from the Jura Valley in France. A pleasant surprise that’s turned into one of our our favourite wines.
