"the tale of mistaken identity"
| S T O R Y | A variety with a case of mistaken identity, Savagnin Blanc was originally imported into Australia under the belief it was Albarino. We love this happy accident as this wine always surprises us with incredible minerality and texture, the ultimate seafood wine.
| S T Y L E | hand-picked from two sites - the home vineyard and little wychwood. chilled overnight. gentle press - 0.57Hl /T. clear racked juice and light fluffy lees racked to french oak. fermented with wild yeast in second and third fill barrels. lees stirred weekly to build texture. unfined with minimal filtration. matured in oak for 6 months.
| W I N E | freshly harvested beehive + honeydew melon, crisp green apple, sea spray. a bright minerality with creamy undertones and some exotic spices.
| E N J O Y | pair with fresh augusta abalone. perfect for a dinner party or blind tasting to stump the savviest wine drinkers. wine nerds will pair savagnin with jura, and delight in the knowledge that this is the grape-parent of sauvignon blanc.
