"where it all started"
| S T O R Y | the very first variety ben planted in 1997 when he was the ripe age of 19 years old. these old vines are the heart and soul of the vineyard, and are steeped in the history of glenarty. planted alongside the farmhouse they produce low-yielding (1.5 tonne / hectare) fruit with beautiful intensity and a dazzling acidity. semillon is a special varietal that is surprisingly tricky to get right. when you have the ideal site and a winemaker that knows how to coax the beauty out of it, semillon produces magic in a bottle.
| S T Y L E | grown in free draining gravelly loam with 10% quartz offering a delicate elegance in the wine. a gentle press cycle with full solids free run juice transferred straight to french oak barrels for wild yeast fermentation. matured for 6 months in french oak, 17% of which was new oak. unfined with minimal filtration.
| W I N E | a delicate and finely drawn wine showing freshly melted butter. butterscotch, lemon balm, thyme butter, fresh lemonade and cut grass. thirst quenching acidity.
| E N J O Y | with fresh augusta king george whiting or a seasonal salad. Enjoy now, or put a bottle away and enjoy the development of honeyed notes in years to come.
