"the worlds most fickle grape variety"
| S T O R Y | infamously known as the most fickle of all red varieties to grow and make. when done right, it produces lighter-bodied wines of elegance, complexity and longevity. we believe that if there is anywhere in the margaret river region that can grow great pinot, its the deep south of karridale, and in particular on our east facing hill that allows the fruit to bathe in full morning sun, with a cool evening southern ocean breeze.
| S T Y L E | 75% of the blend was fermented in a concrete open fermentor with 20% whole bunches. the remaining pinot was whole bunch fermented in 2 amphora vessels, with a small amount of foot-stomping, the wine underwent carbonic maceration and fermentation before being pressed at 0.5 baume. the wine was then matured in french oak for 6 months (10% new) before being bottled onsite, unfined and unfiltred.
| W I N E | juicy red fruit-driven nose that opens into a charry, earthy and layered mid-palate. bright and earthy with sour cherries, rose petals, goji berries, fruit leather and charcuterie notes.
| E N J O Y | with game meats and charcuterie
