Vermentino + Fiano...
This little white is like the sea-breeze on a hot day... welcomed and totally refreshing. It has the fragrance of star jasmin at the start of spring when the sun is shining bright and flavours of crunchy green pear and delicate stone fruit. With a fun sherbert like acidity and a salty sea spray finish. Made for sunny picnics, fresh seafood and hot summery nights. So stock up on this special little drop for plenty of good times ahead.
We have been so excited all year to introduce you to the first-ever harvest of our favourite Italian white varieties... Vermentino and Fiano. After falling in love with these varieties on our Honeymoon in Italy, we decided to make our own version of these light session-able but sophisticated whites.
So in 2018, we grafted them onto 20-year-old Sauvignon Blanc rootstock and vintage 2020 finally delivered the goods. The quality was primo but the yields were super low. So we went with a field blend style of 80% Vermentino and 20% Fiano.
The small-batch of fruit was partially skin fermented with full solids in concrete and second fill chardonnay French oak barrels, then matured for 4 months. Making a fun and rizty little wine, that is made for summery sessions with (or without) some freshly caught seafood.
We hope you love it as much as we do. Cheers!
